USAGE AND PRIVACY POLICY

Use of the Primary Care Electronic Libary Site

By entering the PCEL site, users agree to the conditions set out in this usage and privacy policy. Users must not use the site to send or publish abusive, sexist, racist or obscene material. In such circumstances PCEL will block access to such users and may use personal information provided by such users to contact and notify third parties regarding offensive material sent or published by such users. Certain areas of the site can only be accessed by users who agree to accept cookies from PCEL.

Privacy

For research purposes we record the usage of PCEL in log files and also using a commercially available package, Google Analytics. Neither the log files or Google Analytics contain any personally identifiable information, only identifying visitors by their Internet Protocol (IP) number (supplied by your computer on connection to PCEL).

To enable access to restricted areas of the site (areas which require you to sign in) and for the purpose of only advertising questionnaires to new visitors, cookies are used by PCEL. None of these cookies contain personally identifiable information . If users choose not to allow PCEL to set such cookies, those users will not be able to access certain areas of the site.

Certain areas of the PCEL site can only be accessed by users who have registered for a PCEL account. Personally identifiable information is required to register for a PCEL account. Such information will never be disclosed to a third party. Anonymised data may be used for research purposes, but no personally identifiable information will be discussed or disclosed. Personally identifiable information provided to create a PCEL account, and that provided in feedback forms, may be used in order to contact you regarding PCEL. It is possible to request that we d not contact you, and in such cases we will respect this request.

Any user who believes that PCEL holds incorrect or incomplete data regarding them is encouraged to contact pcel@sgul.ac.uk.

Advertising

PCEL has no sponsors, and will not accept any advertising on its website.

Liability

PCEL aims to support, not substitute, the clinician. Members of the public are encouraged to consult health professionals for answers to any health-related questions. Whilst reasonable efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of the information on this website, we cannot guarantee its correctness or completeness. The information on this website is subject to change and we cannot guarantee that it is up-to-date.
